In quick succession, Bright Brown has just followed up his last track with another instant beauty titled “Pressed On Me”. Keep reading for a much closer look into the single and a much needed background on this talented artist.

On the heels of his hit “Aimless”, Bright Brown has kept the momentum going and rolled his work into a new one called “Pressed On Me”. Leading with his immensely expressive vocals, he’s put the focus on his voice, but is still generously backed up by an atmospheric production and generally low key instrumentation. Hypnotic at certain points, we’ve found this to be a wonderful introduction to the rest of his music if you just happen to be discovering him for the first time now.

Originally written 18 years ago shortly after the birth of his only child, Bright claims that this is “a narrative that every parent can relate to”. While we’re not parents, but can fully appreciate the unsurmountable love a parent can have for their child, ultimately it’s about looking forward to the day that your kid will be out and on its own. The best part of this whole song and everything surrounding it though is that considering it’s been finished up for 18 years now, Bright chose to delay its release until that day came, and here the song is out now for the world to enjoy. Talk about the long con, we fully appreciate all the emotions and sincerity that are wrapped up in “Pressed On Me”.

Putting the message of it all aside for just a moment though, this song has a seemingly infinite amount of bright spots. As mentioned, the vocals and their genuine feeling is what ties this all together, but it’s the slow burning feeling in the background that ignites a little fire as well. Comparing it to his last song “Aimless”, they’re slightly similar in style, but we honestly prefer this more refrained and straightforward performance. If anything, it gives Bright Brown the opportunity to truly highlight what makes his artistry so great!
