Brielle Brown engineers a heartfelt debut EP, titled "The Well"
Consider us beyond impressed, because the debut EP titled The Well from Brielle Brown is the most sincere and authentic records we’ve heard in quite some time. Please read on for our full featured review of the album, in addition to a background on the artist as well.
For those out of the loop, Brielle Brown is a songwriter, artist, and mentor who is currently based in New York City. Living with her husband and young twin children, she’s somehow managed to carve out the time to create a significant amount of beauty on her EP, The Well. After releasing the teaser single “Concrete Stars” in 2020, she’s more than delivered with the full project.
It feels as though we could list a seemingly infinite amount of pros on this record, so we’ll just have to stick to the highlights for now in order to not give too much away. Coming in at 6 total tracks, spanning just around 24 minutes in run time, there’s a little piece of everything here that music lovers around the world are going to eat right up. A production quality that rivals the pros is one asset, but the obvious standouts are the maturities within Brielle and her soaring vocals.
Brielle provided an informative statement on The Well in which she proclaimed, “I am certain of nothing except that when all is said and done, the only thing left will be love. The source of the light and frequencies that bind us all together. That’s the love I want to understand. And art brings me a little closer…”
Jam packed with emotion and personality, this collection of songs is the introspective journey from Brielle where she gives us her inner most thoughts on womanhood to motherhood, amongst so many other hard hitting topics. One of the even more impressive things is that this EP was recorded live in one day. Please take that into consideration before you click play for the first time.
While picking out a “best” song would be close to impossible, we feel that the real priority here is listening to the EP as a collective whole. It’s an immersed listening experience that requires your close attention and a classic run through from start to finish. We can’t help but overwhelmingly recommend this record, which is why we’ve done the easiest part and listed all the important links below in order to listen and follow along with Brielle Brown. We know for a fact we’ll be anticipating the next release, but no rush to her, we know these things take time. Enjoy!
