Here with his debut EP released on March 9th, 2021, BosLanta Skee has impressed with The Teddy Rams Project. Do yourselves a favor and read along with us for our full featured review of the record, in addition to a background on the artist.

Born in Boston, but now representing the Atlanta music scene, BosLanta Skee has just shared his genre diverse EP The Teddy Rams Project. With influences on the recording coming from greats such as The Notorious B.I.G. Outkast, and many more, this record hits on so many wonderful levels for all different kinds of music lovers. Instrumentally diverse, smooth flows galore, and stories that actually make you want to listen, this one’s a winner.

Having been influenced by so many genres growing up, it’s not overly difficult to hear those influences come through directly through the record. Productionally speaking, this is a fantastic listen from start to finish. Coming in eight total tracks, spanning twenty six inventive minutes, The Teddy Rams Project hits so many levels of ingenuity and originality that it’s quickly become one of our favorite Hip Hop records of the year.

In addition to BosLanta Skee, he’s also enlisted some help on some of our favorite tracks from some rather talented artists as well such as Skee Sauvage and Touk, David Chin, and Miles Stone. While the bulk of the record features the main artist obviously, features like that can always add a profound sense of collaboration that helps to overall diversify the complete sound.

Our first impressions here, or at least as we hit play on the album opener “Too Much” were how unbelievably groovy the bass line was. Right off the bat within the first 30 seconds, the artist has you moving around in your seat getting ready to get up and dance it out. As soon as the rest of the song hit, we were sold. As fantastic as BosLanta Skee’s flow and lyricism is on the record, we would have also been impressed with just a pure instrumental. It’s extremely reminiscent of Outkast, however, he’s managed to inject his own style and realness into the sound. It doesn’t sound like everything else out there, and that’s what we loved the most.

At eight tracks total, it also doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s bite size in the sense that you don’t have to dedicate too much time to it, which makes it then a perfect listen for anytime. Too much filler on Hip Hop records these days seems to be an unwanted trend, so going in the direction of the EP format where an artist puts out his best is always what we feel the listener appreciates. So much music out there makes it difficult to get to it all and the longer stuff often gets forgotten about, but not in this case.

With all this being said though, we confidently loved this and are recommending you all to give it a listen as soon as can be. It’s fun, original, and has incredible amounts of replayability. For now, give it all the listens and enjoy!
