Surpassing our wildest expectations on her new EP Cool People Don’t Exist, consider us overjoyed with this release coming from Bonded Jacky. Read on as we take a closer look into the record, in addition to a background on this artist.

Currently based out of Los Angeles, California, Bonded Jacky is a self-proclaimed “gangly girl with a schoolboy energy” that is absolutely brimming with talent and a musical vision that’s come to fruition on her EP, Cool People Don’t Exist. Taking us on an adventure through originals and even a cover of one our favorites, “Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne, this artist leads with sweet and sultry vocals, but has definitely delivered a well rounded project that’s been playing nonstop in our heads since it got sent our way. If this is your introduction to Bonded Jacky, we can think of no better jumping off point to explore more.

On the background of it all, she says, “I was recently told that cool people don’t exist and it stuck with me. We all have social masks that we put up, where we define ourselves by the way others see us”. Ultimately that was the platform in which this EP was created, and lyrically speaking, it’s a journey in which we take a look at ourselves within and get a little introspective through the process. Everyone wants to be cool in some capacity, but forcing it can easily lead to coming off as not. Through 4 fantastic tracks that uphold a cohesive and linear production, our initial listen of Cool People Don’t Exist left us jotting down so many personal highlights and milestones that Bonded Jacky should be thrilled with. As mentioned, her vocals are sincere, warm, and intimate, almost feeling like a tight hug from an old friend. She has the ability to show off her range and dynamic sound, all the while becoming the constant and emotional driver of the record as a whole.

Additionally, it’s certainly got that “cool” factor, whether she’d like to admit it or not, but there really is an effortless charm about the delivery, cadence, and sonic nature of these songs when listened to in order. The mood is generally uplifting, the instrumentals are quite vibrant, and it’s without a doubt something we’re going to be coming back to frequently. It 100% falls within our personal preferences of music we love, and with that, a resounding reason why you should give this a spin as soon as you can.
