Continuing their beyond impressive roll out of new music, Blue Lush have left us in awe once more with their latest track, “Inferno”. Do yourselves a favor and read on for a closer look, as well as an update on the band.

It’s been two seemingly long months since we last reviewed Blue Lush’s single “So I’m Sorry”, and since then, we’ve been patiently waiting for another special release. Fast forward to January 18th and this New York-based eclectic group of talented individuals have sincerely outdone themselves on “Inferno”. It’s similar in vain stylistically to what we’ve experienced in the past, yet they’ve doubled down on piercing and conjoined vocals that hold all of the emotion. You know what to do, hit that play button for a good time as soon as you can.

Giving a bit of back story on “Inferno”, the band has let us know that it’s about “feeling devastated during the pandemic” and experiencing that burning feeling of having “nowhere to go and nothing to look forward to”. It doesn’t matter where you’re situated in the world, that’s about as relatable as it could possibly get in terms of direct themes. While the lyrics certainly paint a picture of a common feeling, we’ve got to admit that initially our focus and attention wasn’t drawn to them until our third or fourth listen. The reason that we keep coming back to Blue Lush is because they’re creating these melodic harmonies that feel like your brain is being tickled in the perfect way. This song specifically and the tones and vibe it holds is absolutely a great way to blow off steam and truly lose yourself in the density and complexity of its production.

Without a doubt, our favorite aspect of this song are the vocals and the never ending joy that they bring. However, let's not act like some of the more subtle moments in the instrumental don’t continue to make “Inferno” pop. The emphatic drums have a personality of their own and bring an edge, there’s plenty of rhythmic moments in the subtle guitars, and their signature larger than life atmospheric style comes into play too. We’re not lying when we say this song legitimately had us on the edge of our seats in anticipation of what might happen next. The end result has turned into repeated listens as mentioned and a necessity for more Blue Lush ASAP.
