For those not in the know, Blooming Fire are a brother sister fronted, activist-charged psychedelic band who prides themselves on being vocal for justice, sustainability, and equal rights. Their message behind the music is directly inspired by Mother Nature, as well as not pigeonholing themselves into a single genre as well. Blending the sounds of alternative rock, psychedelic rhythms, reggae, and more, we couldn’t help but instantly fall in love with Dunia.

Having performed at mega events like Burning Man and Lucidity Festival, Blooming Fire are certainly the real deal, but their music really does most of the speaking for them. At 4 songs, spanning 24 atmospheric minutes, there’s so much you could possibly love on this record. As lovers of all things psych ourselves, our bar for judgement typically raises a little bit in these situations. With that being said though, the band has blown out our expectations with everything presented here.

It would be near impossible to pick out a favorite track of the bunch, the main reason being is that each sort of represents a different genre in its own right. You’ve got a psychedelic beginning, glimmers of hip hop towards the middle, and a healthy dose of reggae as well. Typically the first impression of a band or their music comes directly from the album artwork, and in this case it set the perfect stage for what we thought their music would sound like. A massive fusion of amazingness is how we’d describe it generally.

The obvious follow up question to our stellar review is when can we get more!? Seeing as though this is their most recent release from 2018, we hope the band has been hard at work since then cooking up something new for the old and soon to be new fans. With such a diverse sound, we honestly don’t know what direction we’d personally want them to take, but at this point, we’ll happily listen to anything they put out.

Do yourselves a service here and get on Blooming Fire as soon as possible. For the music lover who enjoys a bit of experimentation in their music, and definitely some music that takes creative liberties, look no further!
