In a last minute effort to brighten the holiday season, Ben Lazarus has gone on the offense this year with a single that pokes fun at Christmas. Perfectly titled “The Cost of Christmas”, Ben’s serving up a much needed dose of sarcasm, all the while staying true to his infectiously catchy and consistent music. This is the ideal song for this time of the year and we can’t wait for you to check it out.
Ben Lazarus is no amateur when it comes to music or creation, in fact he’s been a production sound mixer for film and television for quite a while now. Starting to create originals for himself was the obvious transition, and now after all this time has built up a blossoming discography. Now signed to Napier Records, a label founded by Academy award-winning filmmaker Andrew Napier, we hope to see more music in this same vein in the coming year.
Speaking directly on “The Cost of Christmas”, this song almost hits a little too close to home when taking the lyrics into account. For example, if you’ve found yourself in an unbelievably long line spending money you either don’t have or don’t want to spend, you’re probably going to love this song. If anything, it’s going to reverberate in your head over the next two weeks as we close out the year and the season for giving comes around the corner.
While so much music that comes our way is typically serious, this was everything we could’ve hoped for and more to break up the monotony and actually put a legitimate smile on our collective faces.
