Beau Hudson pens incredibly relatable song, "I Just Came Here for the Food"
Slightly satirical but 100% catchy in its style, Beau Hudson has just shared his latest single titled “I Just Came Here for the Food”. We are loving this one! Read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on this talented artist.
Centered around a thumping bass line and killer production, Beau Hudson has essentially stripped things back on his newest song, “I Just Came Here for the Food”. Allowing his clever lyricism to take center stage, this is the type of satirical song we enjoy in that the actual song is actually relatable. The song doesn’t take itself too seriously right off the bat, but we keep coming back to listen because of the entire package.
At just 23 years old, this Australia-based pop songwriter and performer is already making waves around the world. With so many demos in his repertoire just waiting to get recorded, we’re thrilled to have found out about Beau and his completely unique take on music as a whole. While this song keeps things light, his other works like his EP Sad Boy center around difficult topics like past traumas, eating disorders, and mental health.
Of course we’re going to make a concerted effort to explore the rest of his discography and his more hard hitting works, but focusing on this one for now, we felt this was the perfect introduction to really get a taste of what he can give. We’ve all been in that situation where we get dragged to a party or event and are really just there for the free food, however thankfully artists like Beau have centered a song around that to finally relate! Who needs love songs when you can write about delicious food, right?
On top of a stripped back instrumentation that ultimately is the backbone to the lyrics, our only “con” here is that it was a tad on the short side. We need more complaint-infused music like this, so hopefully he delivers big again in 2022. For now though, we’ll be spinning this all day long.
