Italy's own, Be A Bear, defies the impossible and releases album recorded entirely on an iPhone

Italy’s own, Be A Bear, has done what no Italian recording artist has managed to succeed at yet, and that is recording an album using a mobile device to compose, play, record, and mix his music. Join us as we dissect the discography of Be A Bear and learn the ways of his music recording lifestyle.
Although his most recent album, Climb Your Time, was released in 2018, we can’t help but take a look back and see just how this album came about and what exactly it means for the future of recording artists. Be A Bear refers to his music as “Electro Bear Pop” which is characterized by synthesizers and sounds of the 80s, tribal rhythms and straight case. Overall the songs are very vibrant, have fantastic arrangements, and an incredible rhythm. To think that 100% of everything you hear on the album comes directly from an iPhone is truly mind-blowing and shows off an immense amount of talent and patience that had to be taken in order to finish such a thing.
In addition to the music you hear, Be A Bear also has a music video that...you guessed it, was fully recorded and edited on an iPhone. Considering no one else is doing this, at least that we’ve been made aware of, Be A Bear has created his own category of music, that he’s calling “smartphone music”. It makes sense, because technically it is, and we hope to hear more of it in the future!
As far as our favorite tracks go, well we really enjoy all of them because they’re so different from one another, yet the entire album flows wonderfully throughout. Picking a few though, we’re quite fond of listening to “Give Me Change Me”, “Waiting For My Lover”, and “Me and the Grizzly”. All fantastic tracks to zone out to and get into the beats. Having to remind myself while listening that this was all made on a cell phone continues to impress me and we think it will continue to impress you as well, listen after listen.
Il Piccio Records, also located in Italy, did a fantastic job of discovering this artist and has done a fantastic job of promoting them! Speaking of the music, we think it’s about time you stop reading this review, and listen to the complete and fantastic discography coming from Be A Bear!
