Creating an unbelievably intimate experience on his newest EP HOME, BAYWUD’s newest release is 100% worth your time and focus. Please read on for our glowing review of the record, as well as a background on the artist.

Keeping things personal and detailing complex emotion, BAYWUD’s latest EP release HOME is a succinct record that’s truly transcendent. Staying true to the common theme of “feeling lost and broken, all the while searching for your way back home”, the lyricism and overall songwriting was a standout amongst so many other facets. If this is your introduction to the musician, you’re in for a wonderful experience.

Coming in at 3 total tracks, spanning right around 10 minutes, BAYWUD immediately transports the listener into his own little atmospheric world of beauty. Offering stripped back instrumentation that allows the listener to really focus in on the lyrics, anything more would honestly have been a serious detractor. For example on the opener “Calling”, it’s the artist, his piano, and silky smooth vocals communicating an important message. It’s right to the point and doesn’t miss a beat throughout.

Already offering up consistent single releases throughout 2021, it’s such a pleasure to have discovered this artist and all the meaningful music he’s been releasing. Looking back though, there’s plenty that we must have missed, so we know for the total fact that setting time aside for exploration through his discography is going to be mandatory. Plain and simple, HOME blew us away and gave us those same feelings that James Blake’s music does. With production on par with that comparison, it’s going to be a blast getting to see how BAYWUD’s sound evolves in the coming years.

With all that being said, one thing we’ll leave you with is that this music is not to be listened to as background noise, rather a close and focused listen to really make those connections. The artist is baring his soul, so it would be best to really pay attention.
