Pairing together a vibrant instrumentation and ominous vocals, Barbara Craig has just shared her lush debut single “Air That We Breathe”. We are loving it! Read on for our complete analysis of the track and a bio on this impressive artist.

On this extremely diverse and atmospheric sounding debut single, Barbara Craig has managed to impart a refreshing sense of originality on “Air That We Breathe”. Contextually speaking, this track is an “emotional tribute to those that have lost their lives during the pandemic”. According to the artist, it “uses contrasting musical ideas that reflect the turbulent year the world has faced but stays fresh and innovative throughout”. Without a doubt, we implore you to listen immediately.

Slightly reminiscent of Christine and the Queens with an instrumentation that feels Hans Zimmer-esque, this was a memorable debut that has certainly set the stage for more to come in the hopeful future. For those who may not be familiar with Barbara Craig, she is an Irish contemporary music composer, producer and artist from Dublin, Ireland. From one composer to another, Houston Dunleavy says, Barbara has the talent and knowledge to craft and execute brilliant musical bodies, and has done so in this marvelous single.”

With this release coming at an emotional point in so much of the world’s life, the artist hopes that “Air That We Breathe” will bring comfort to them and a renewed sense of hope back into the world. For us, it did just that, especially towards the end when a heartfelt message was spoken directly to the listener. As beautiful as the song sounds from start to finish, it’s imperative that you stick around to the end, that’s when things feel finite and everything seemed to really set in.

The laser focused vision that Barbara seemed to have had going into this song’s creation is truly something else. With all of those different genre influences coming through, she’s still carved out a path for herself to make music that simply doesn’t sound like anything else. In today’s day and age as far as music creation goes, that’s becoming increasingly more difficult. Our eyes and ears will be patiently awaiting for the follow up, but the first step for you readers is to listen in immediately. You’re going to love it!
