Originally from Burkina Faso, Awa Lemen is a rising R&B star who is audibly improving on each and every release. As an independent artist like herself, she’s been steadily learning and mastering craft since she was 12 years old. It’s been nearly six months since we covered her EP Winter Feels, which is why we’re ecstatic that she’s back with the single “Bye Bye Bye”.

Directly inspired by the likes of Aaliyah, Jhene Aiko, Rihanna and so many more, she’s still managing to pave her own path within the genre of R&B and Soul music. Her mission is to not only continue on a path as a talented musician, rather to touch people around the world with her sweet music. If it’s any consolation, we’ve been fans for a little while now and legitimately look forward to each and every release. Winter Feels was wonderful, but we’re definitely vibing with “Bye Bye Bye” as well.

Even better is since this single was featured on the last EP, it’s now got a music video that has brought a whole new life to the song. We’ve linked it below, but please keep reading as we gush about our love for the track. Keeping up with her classic Soul sound, the driving highlights of this track as a whole have to be the compelling production that props up Awa’s vocals as a whole. Truly, it’s a serious mood that’s easy to get into. It’ll have you feeling empowered and ready to dive into the rest of her discography as soon as you’re finished with listening.

With more music on the way hopefully in the very near future, it’s got us more excited than ever for what’s to come. As much as we’ve loved this single from start to finish, we can’t help but overwhelmingly recommend the music video as well. I know we’ve mentioned it above, but it just cannot be overstated how beautiful and stunning it really is.
