On a roll this year with their fourth released single, the project known as Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends have just shared a new one, “No Sweet Dreams”. Keep reading for a closer look into the track, as well as a background on this band.

Currently based out of Stockholm, Sweden, Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends are consistently putting together a cosmic blend of power pop, indie rock, and something special on the backend that’s certainly made them stand out from the crowd. On their newest song called “No Sweet Dreams”, listeners are immediately hit with an upbeat and vibrant instrumentation, a more than approachable vocal delivery, and plenty of vivid lyricism to connect the dots within the story. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our multiple listens and cannot wait for everyone to give it a spin.

With help on the production from David Myhr (of the Merrymakers), this song quickly takes on a life of its own considering there’s so much fusion of style happening at once. For one, it’s got those elements of power pop as mentioned, but also a tad bit of New Wave as well if you listen closely. There’s so many moments in this song that come off as catchy and we can virtually guarantee you’ll have it stuck in your head in some capacity, humming along with the chorus by the time the final note strikes. The production is a very clear highlight as everything pops nicely, but so much of “No Sweet Dream”’s greatness lies in the passion within the vocals and the actual meaning behind these words.

On the background of it all, we’ve been told it’s a “song about illness (or maybe drug abuse), but at its core a sad song about love, or at least memories of love”. For us, we love the open-ended feeling of it all, giving you the opportunity to form a meaning of your own, even though there’s a somewhat loose and definitive background given. With words that pack a punch and a real sincerity about this listen as a whole, it’s given us the urge to explore everything else that’s come from Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends. Additionally, maybe someday we’ll get to learn exactly how the band name stemmed and what it all means!
