Amore Aurora explains their signature sound on debut EP, "Aurora" - Interview
Having reviewed the band extensively in the past, it’s about time we brought on Amore Aurora for an in-depth interview, but this time around to get an inside look on their new EP, Aurora. Please enjoy our conversation with Roger Flores below.
Mexican pop rock band Amore Aurora, founded in 2020 by Roger Flores and Oscar Gallegos, has graced us with their enchanting EP titled Aurora. Released on April 27th, 2023, this collection of five songs takes listeners on a captivating cosmic journey through the realms of Latin-inspired indie pop.
From the opening notes of the EP, it becomes evident that Amore Aurora is a band that thrives on creating a sense of connection and magic through their music. Each track showcases their unique fusion of sounds, capturing the essence of their romanticism. With an inspiration drawn from the infinite universe itself, Amore Aurora's aim is to make their fans fall in love with their captivating melodies and heartfelt lyrics, not only in the USA but also in Mexico, South America, and the world as a long term goal.
The EP kicks off with a burst of energy on “Solo Por Esta Vez”, creating vibrant melodies that instantly capture the listener's attention. Each song on Aurora carries its own distinct atmosphere, showcasing the band's ability to seamlessly blend genres and create a sonic landscape that is both refreshing and engaging. Now we will say that the record is entirely sung in Spanish, however as discussed, it’s more about the entirety of the vibe rather than understanding the lyrics. However, Roger did a wonderful job of giving us the background on the meaning of these songs during our interview.
One standout aspect of Aurora is the band's ability to create melodies that stick with you long after the music stops playing. Each song boasts catchy hooks and memorable choruses that invite audience participation and sing-along moments. Whether it's the powerful energy of "Me Siento Bien" or the grooves of the closer "Prohibido," Amore Aurora showcases their songwriting prowess throughout the EP.
The band's chemistry and musical cohesion are evident in each track. Joined by Juan Aviléz and Julio de Paz more recently, Amore Aurora creates a synergy that elevates their sound to new heights. The instrumental arrangements are thoughtfully crafted, with each band member contributing their unique talents to create a cohesive and dynamic musical experience.
