Continuing on their beautiful roll of singles this year, ambrosial has served up another sensational track titled “rotting on the vine”. Please read on for a complete analysis, in addition to a much needed background on this artist.

At only 24 years old, ambrosial is a Boston-based musician that’s specializing in dream pop with an emphasis on a seriously expansive production. On their latest song “rotting on the vine”, it has certainly taken cues from some of the current greats like Billie Eilish or Carly Rae Jepsen, however it’s still filled to the brim with originality and personality direct from the artist. As this was our introduction overall, we didn’t quite know what to expect, however we’ve become blown away by this effort and everything else we’ve listened to thus far.

Described as being a “hopeless romantic with a passion for storytelling and a deep rooted love for fairytales”, that notion comes through eloquently within the lyricism. The listener is immersed by grand soundscapes that come swirling across the plain, and that definitely shifts the focus, but once you make the connections within the words, that’s when you’ll find that ambrosial is as well rounded as it gets. It’s one thing to be able to compose something that on the surface looks pretty and polished, but it’s the imagery-filled songwriting that takes the artistry and musicianship to the next level. We highly recommend connecting the dots within her words as this song reflects on failed relationships and how to realize you might be in one.

From a genre standpoint, “rotting on the vine” embodies that floating feeling of dream pop that we’ll never stop adoring, but honestly it’s ambrosial’s serene vocals that take the cake. The production is a major standout, don’t get us wrong, but with the dynamic sound that she’s bringing, it’s got us beyond excited to explore the rest of the discography and for everything else we hope is on the way. Listening over and over has been nothing but a positive experience and we urge everyone out there to give this a spin as soon as you can!
