The day has come and all expectations have surpassed! A.M. Sokoll has finally let loose his debut album Wings on the Way Down and we are loving it. Do yourselves a favor and keep reading for our in-depth look into the record and a refresher on this artist.

For those somehow out of the loop on A.M. Sokoll, there’s never been a better time to dive into his discography. After interviewing him not too long ago and covering his EP Chateau, it wouldn’t be crazy to consider us fans. For this singer, songwriter, and composer who’s currently based out of Seattle, Washington, it’s been a long road to the debut of Wings on the Way Down, but it has delivered in unimaginable ways. Without a doubt, we are highly recommending you dive in immediately.

Inspired by his time in therapy in 2019, where he watched the framework of his world crumble, the album is about picking up the pieces and moving forward. Coming in at 10 total tracks, spanning 43 flawless minutes, there legitimately isn’t a single piece of filler or questionable inclusions. Right from the get go on the opener “Cracking Up”, the record features A.M.'s always unique vocal delivery that immediately has him standing out from the rest. You can fully expect a top tier production as usual, but a slightly varied instrumentation from what we were expecting. In our eyes, this artist through some unexpected curveballs, but every experiment or wild left turn worked wonderfully.

Picking out a favorite track would be a pointless task, mainly because the album flows together so cohesively. In order to really get the lyrical content through and overall complex messages, we suggest you hit the play button at the beginning and let it run through untouched. Make sure to take the time and connect the dots on the stories being told. Even though the background and inspiration of WIngs on the Way Down was given, it doesn’t mean there isn’t more to explore here.

As a whole though, especially when we spoke to A.M. about “Hourglass”, this isn’t the record we were expecting, rather the one we never dreamed we could have received. Not to sound too overhyped or anything, but seriously, there’s so much to love here as this artist has expertly blended up genres in a seamless way. You wouldn’t understand unless you listen for yourselves, it’s really just that good.

Enough with the words on the page though, it’s about time you appreciate the album for what it is and get listening! For all things A.M. Sokoll, to listen, and to keep up with all future releases and information, please check out the following links below.
