Ali Slater crafts dynamic debut single, "Kiss In The Rain"

Imparting seemingly infinite amounts of genres into her sound, Ali Slater’s debut “Kiss In The Rain” is everything we could have hoped for and more. Featuring elements of pop punk and metal, this New York City-based singer and songwriter is seriously on the path to stardom if she keeps up big releases like that. Without a doubt though, we’re highly recommending anyone out there to crank this up loud and give it a spin.
Having been singing and playing piano since the age of 4 and learning to write songs at 7, it’s been a long time coming for Ali Slater. After graduating Tulane University in 2018 with a BA in Music, she finally took to the recording studio to get this music career started. Thankfully she did though because in all seriousness, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed listening to this song over and over. On the production end of things, it’s stellar in all regards and really aims to showcase your vocal dynamics in the process.
What we need to pay special attention to in this case is in the instrumentation and just how delicately it borders those lines of genres. At its base, the song is quite poppy, however the drums add a much needed dose of heaviness too. They almost allude to metal-inspired drums, which could be coming from her musical influences, however all aspects of the song really blend together to create something unique. Going forward for Ali it will be much easier to broaden her sounds and style based off of this debut.
With all that being said though, for a debut song she’s got us extremely interested to see what else is in the pipeline for 2022.
