Just in time for the Holidays, Alexander James Rodriguez has released his latest single, “Holiday in L.A.”! We’re loving it! Please read along with us as we share our detailed thoughts on the track, in addition to a background and insight on the artist himself.
Splitting time between London and Los Angeles, Alexander James Rodriguez is doing his best to bring happiness in the form of music during these tough times. The indie artist recorded three songs in May 2020 during COVID lockdown in LA.
Turning 13 during a pandemic had its natural challenges for Alexander, but add a sprinkle of lockdowns, curfews and the need to navigate a new virtual public school system, amidst the chaos, Alexander James Rodriguez recorded three pop records in May with the first being, ‘My Crew’ released July 7, 2020. He recorded “Holiday in LA” for UNICEF in October and has seen immense success upon its release.
When Alexander isn’t acting, he’s making incredibly catchy songs such as this one. In just three short minutes on “Holiday in L.A.”, he’s managed to turn us into superfans! Seriously, with limited experience with his music specifically, we were absolutely astounded at just perfectly the lyricism summed up as a literal holiday in Los Angeles. As LA natives ourselves, it’s always fun to hear places we regularly visit featured in holiday music.
As Thanksgiving has just passed, we’re fully into the Christmas season, and what better way than to kick it off with a new holiday-themed song that’s actually good. Not to knock on year’s pasts worth of holiday tracks, but an updated version that makes you bob your head along is something we all needed. We can certainly envision ourselves happily strolling down the streets listening to this one. Truly, it’s only a matter of time until we do!
