You may remember that we covered Agon Branza’s single release for “Glitter Guns” sometime last month. Needless to say we were absolutely in love with the song, seriously, if you haven’t listened, you’re going to fall in love with his voice. Regardless, the official music video has been released and it finally puts a story and images into one of our favorite releases of the year.

We had a chance to speak with Agon before the release of the music video and he broke it down very clearly for us as to what it’s really all about. “Being that Glitter Guns is about individual and general apathy, particularly towards discrimination - which is always reflected in a collective sense - it was crucial for me that the concept could convey this apathy, which feels imprisoned, unveiling its effects and defects. Covering up, deconstructing, reconstructing, reinventing our features, exposing and dissecting them, is a way of alerting that going unnoticed can be vital, functional, but also fatal. Why? No one is invisible. Unseen? Yes. The same happens with apathy, in our perception: it’s possible to fossilise that which hasn’t happened. We all inhabit something or someone. We drink from others’ emotions, replicate others’ thoughts, therefore we leave a mark. Of what kind? It is up to you to find the answer, which is the challenge set by the music video. Three confined people who were screaming for a different kind of isolation, one to defy their own apathies, maybe even the apathy of others. And from a studio apartment, we created another kind of studio, and the video was born: in full-fledged quarantine.”

Creating anything during quarantine, finding the energy to exert to create and bring things to life is a feat in its own. Music videos don’t often get sent to us, but it’s always a nice way to envision a slice of what’s going on in the artist’s head, to bring visuals to the songs that bring you happiness.

In the video for “Glitter Guns”, if we had to sum it up into our experience through the 5 minute track, we’d have to say it’s quite emotional, dramatic, and 100% trippy. Watching the music video on a big screen television really brought the song to life. Additionally, we highly recommend that when you’re watching you give it your full attention. There’s so many subtleties in the way the screen and images change that it might be best to give it a couple watches through. As incredible as the song is, and we fully mean that, bringing it to life in the form of video finally gave justice to an impeccable song.

All in all here, I sincerely hope that we’ve convinced you to watch, we promise you won’t be disappointed. Make sure to like, comment, subscribe and stay tuned for everything Agon Branza by checking out all the links below.
