Released just today on May 7th, 2021, Adams Traktor are back with an absolutely thrilling new single titled “Divide”. We are loving it! Read along with us as we share our complete thoughts on the track, as well as a background on the band as well.

With a star studded lineup of members in Adams Traktor, the band is back in a huge way with the release of “Divide”. For those unaware, Adams Traktor is a music project formed by JR Smith to explore, expand and in many ways bend the music genres that have influenced progressive modern music. Their expansive sound is certainly showing on this latest track and we couldn’t help but fall in love instantly.

As mentioned, their lineup is super impressive. Manny Elias is the original drummer for Tears for Fears. Fernando Saunders on bass is a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, producer and solo recording artist on Summit Music/Sony Universal who has played with Lou Reed, Suzanne Vega, Erik Clapton, Slash and Jeff Beck to name just a few. Gregory Darling, the founder of Darling Cruel and reoccurring Billboard top 20 recording artist produced Quench at 2 Lions Studios in Prague. Olda Krejcoves on lead guitar plays with the band Monkey Business and David Kolar. JR Smith wrote, plays rhythm guitar and is the vocalist for all tracks on Quench.

On this single specifically, it is nothing short of a surreal powerhouse vocal performance that carries the listener from start to finish. While yes, the instrumentation on this particular single is as impressive as the rest of their discography, the vocal presence is commanding and ethereal. Delivering a story with complex themes and lyricism is no easy feat, but on “Divide”, it emotionally shook us to the core with what the entirety of the band was capable of doing.

With music seemingly getting released regularly from the band, our real hopes and wishes here are to witness it live someday. Considering that the band isn’t all in one place and scattered around the globe, we hope that it will be possible soon, because music like this deserves to be witnessed in person. The sincere emotions and drama oozing out are unprecedented and we can only imagine how well it would translate to a captivating audience.
