On his next single leading up to the eventual lease of his new full length album, Adam James has done it again on “Falling Upwards”. Keep reading on for our full review of the track, as well as a refresher on one of our favorite emerging artists.

Based out of California, Adam James is an alternative singer songwriter that is expertly combining thoughtful lyricism on top of emotional and upbeat music. While his full length album The Willows is set for release later this summer, his newest single “Falling Upwards” is the perfect placeholder to keep new and old fans occupied until the big day. We are loving this one so much and highly suggest you listen in.

What could be considered a classic lofi indie pop track is really Adam James taking the genre and flipping it on its head. He’s managed to take his personal stories and experiences and somehow turn them into a beautiful rendition that has become another great add to his growing discography. It wasn’t too long ago that we covered his last single “Sleep At Night”, which we also adored, but there was something a little extra special on this one.

For an artist that’s assumingly early in his career of releasing official music, there’s not one negative thing or critique we could honestly point out. The production and execution continues to stay high, the quality is unabashedly consistent, and the vibe Adam is giving off is one we’ve been searching for quite some time. We’re lovers of everything indie pop, which we tend to “judge” a little harder, but in this case he keeps surpassing our expectations. When the full album drops, we’ll definitely be listening on Day 1.

Without spoiling or giving too much away, we really just want to point out the fact that Adam James has big things on the way and to not overlook this release or any past ones either. His catalog is growing, which means now is the ideal time to hop on the bandwagon and ride the train of his musical capability. You can start by checking out “Falling Upwards”.
