Stripping things back on an instantly catchy new single, Aaron Wylder has done it again with the fresh release of “I Could Be Your One”. Please read on for an in-depth look at the track, in addition to a background on this talented artist.

Growing up in the Cayman Islands but now based out of Canada, Aaron has been on an absolute tear over the past year, releasing one fantastic track or album after the other. Coming in right at the end of the year, Aaron Wylder has shared an indie folk single called “I Could Be Your One”, a lyrically forward endeavor with deep meaning and a bright instrumentation. This was our introduction to the artist, but he’s more than impressed us, so let us urge you to give this a play when you get a moment.

Bridging the gap between folk and Americana flair, ultimately it’s Aaron and his vocals that take over the song from beginning to end. Although the flourishments of the production and the inclusion of a tambourine certainly brighten this song up in spots, we were sort of transfixed on his lofi-esque vocals. They brought such a specific mood and tone to the song, especially as you try to follow along and piece together exactly what it’s all about. On the background of it all, Aaron has said, "Think we have all been in a place where you feel like if the stars aligned correctly just this one time it would be perfect. If you were there 5 minutes earlier, if she could only see what you see... This song is about that hopeful feeling and the dream that encapsulates you. The spark that brings you closer to the one”.

To be honest, it’s an all too relatable sentiment, and one that could be potentially underrepresented in music in our opinion. The versatility that this song holds is immense in that regard; you can listen and connect the dots to the lyrics or you can generally lose yourself in Aaron’s voice and raw emotion. Additionally, indie folk music nowadays feels like it’s transitioning to something bigger and grander due to the fusion of genres, but this brings you back to that nostalgic singer songwriter feeling, something we’ve been longing for. Undoubtedly, we’ll be doing a deep dive into Aaron’s discography to further uncover the gems that are hiding!
