Everything Everything talk RAW DATA FEEL, Touring, & Complex Production
As the band gears up for their sixth official album release, we got the special opportunity to sit down with Jonathan Higgs of Everything Everything to talk about the finer details surrounding RAW DATA FEEL. Please check out our full in-depth interview below.
Always striving to create something new, exotic, or sonically enticing, the music of Everything Everything has continued to evolve so much since their debut Man Alive back in 2010. Fast forward 12 years and they’ve risen the ranks to become one of music’s leading eccentric art rock acts that never put out the same song twice. With the release of RAW DATA FEEL coming on May 20th, 2022, the first single released so far “Bad Friday” is a wonderful glimpse into what old and new listeners can expect on the full record.
Of course getting to speak with Jonathan was a total honor considering our fandom over the past 10 years and the laid back feeling we got from him was a definite plus to calm our nerves. While we don’t want to spoil too much from our discussion because we’d prefer you watch or listen for yourselves, we got the perfect amount of insight into their shift in sound over the years, a peek inside the process of recording, and some other fun tidbits that we’ll leave as surprises. One thing we will point out is basically the confirmation that the band name, Everything Everything, was inspired by Radiohead’s “Everything In Its Right Place” off 2000’s Kid A.
Looking past that though, our inner fangirl came out when talking about “Bad Friday”, as it is legitimately one of the most instantly catchy songs we’ve ever heard. Thankfully, it’s not the last single to be released leading up to the big day in May. Additionally, we’ve linked everything below in order for you to listen and more importantly, pre-order RAW DATA FEEL. They’ve got some pretty incredible looking vinyl variants featured exclusively on their website, as well as Rough Trade. Rumor is that they’re going to sell out quite quick, so better get your hands on them as soon as possible.
With all that being said, if you haven’t let the music of Everything Everything into your life yet, you’ve 100% been missing out on something special. Dig through their discography and familiarize yourself immediately. Enjoy!
