Reneé Rapp is a once in a lifetime vocalist. Emerging as a broadway star in 2019, she has seamlessly transitioned into not only being considered a staple queer artist (garnering over 5.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone), but a household name. Following the release of the musical film adaption of Mean Girls, as well as her debut studio album, Snow Angel, she has seamlessly transformed into a must-see act when you spot her name on a lineup.

As she enters, she immediately takes the stage by storm. Her ability to captivate an audience with her raw power and vocal ability alone is what makes her extraordinary. No gimmicks, no intricate set designs; just a remarkable stage presence with out of this world vocals to match. Dressed in a pink polo jersey, basketball shorts, and dark sunglasses, the 24 year old popstar starts with her hit single, ‘Talk Too Much’ as the crowd erupts in screams.

Rapp took a moment to confide in the crowd, explaining that the two of the albums most essential to her included Frank Ocean’s ‘Blonde’ and ‘Coloring Book’ by Chance The Rapper. Immediately after the Chicago native’s name was heard, fans tensed up in anticipation, and before they knew it, Chance emerged as the audience roared and pushed forward. He joined her in singing ‘No Problem,’ an absolute crowd favorite that had everyone at the T-Mobile stage jumping, singing, and smiling along with the pair.

She ended her set with two of her most beloved songs, ‘Tummy Hurts’ and ‘Snow Angel’ leaving the crowd in awe. If you weren’t a fan prior to her set on Friday, it’s guaranteed that you are now.
