Hands down, one of the best festival sets we’ve ever witnessed in our long history of attending shows. The last time we saw Green Day was literally 15 years ago on the American Idiot tour and so to see them headline one of our favorite festivals of all time was an instant blast from the past and flood of emotions. Their set spanned right around an hour and a half, but we know for a fact they’ve got enough hits where they could’ve doubled it easily. Through that 90 minutes of glory, it legitimately brought us back to our childhood and we remembered the words perfectly even though we may not have heard the songs in years. We’ll kick this off by saying if Green Day is playing a show near you, do not miss it!

Of course there’s always the major songs you can expect like “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”, “Wake Me Up When September Ends”, or “American Idiot”, but they also ripped into plenty tracks off Dookie which is one of the greatest pop punk records ever. They played “newer” stuff off 21st Century Breakdown and even did their signature bit where they bring a fan up to sing and play guitar on stage! A lucky fan got to play “Knowledge” by Operation Ivy and it had the fans in the crowd hooting, hollering, and making the most noise we experienced all night long.

While we didn’t know many people at the festival, thankfully we happened upon a spot with diehard fans that we could sing to and experience the madness and moment as it happened. It’s a core memory we’ll hold for the rest of our lives and truly there isn’t much else to say other than it was the absolute highlight of our weekend. Long live Green Day!
