Experimental singer-songwriter Yeule took the stage Sunday evening at The Fonda in Los Angeles for the final stop of their month-long Softscars Tour.

As guests made their way into the venue, opener Sasami set the tone of the night with energetic indie rock and metal songs, perfectly pairing with the more rock-oriented sounds of Yeule’s latest album, Softscars. Tracks like “sulky baby” and "bloodbunny” sounded just as excellent live as they do recorded, and a passionate performance of album highlight “software update” left the audience speechless while Yuele performed.

While the setlist consisted almost entirely of songs from Softscars, songs from 2019’s Glitch Princess were also performed to an enthusiastic reception, such as set opener “Don’t Be So Hard on Your Own Beauty” - performed acoustically. Ethereal album cut “Electric” was one of the most captivating moments of the night, featuring impressive vocals and instrumental arrangements.

The timing of the Halloween weekend show was apparent and perfectly aligned with the alternative and moody aesthetic of Yuele’s music. Attendees arrived in a sea of costumes, and the stage decor, music, and audience's ensembles perfectly synced, creating an immersive Halloween weekend concert experience.

During Yeule’s performance, it was clear that everyone in the audience was there because they were genuine fans and were connecting with the music. With three excellently received albums under their belt and an obvious growing strength as a performer, at only 25, Yeule is bound to leave a legacy of exciting experimental music.
