To be a photographer in the music industry, it often means you will be sent on assignment to capture a performance that you may not be so keen on, and other times, you are tasked with capturing your all-time favorite band, and that is where the nerves kick in. Sigur Ros helped heal my heart, while watching my oldest daughter go through a cancer diagnosis. The beeps of the hospital machines drove me crazy, and Sigur Rós brought me back to the serene place that my heart needed to be in. Night after night, while sleeping at my daughter's bedside, I listened to the Icelandic trio, and it helped get me through the toughest seven months of my life. Now that she is 10 years in remission, they remain a heartbeat of my musical taste, and still my all-time favorite band.

The set performed by Sigur Rós and the Wordless Music Orchestra was meticulously curated, with a handful of songs from many of their albums, including their newest release, ATTA. ATTA is a gorgeous record, and hearing the songs performed with an orchestra in such a beautiful venue was a gift to behold. It felt as if the whole crowd was intertwined by the lush and immersive sounds that were presented. I know that I was dug down deep into my seat, eyes locked in on the stage, ears tuned into the sounds bouncing around the theater, and my heart...swelling.

Despite not being able to see the three core members, they were very present. It was clear they came to perform, with intricacy, and very little crowd involvement or interaction. The attention to detail came through in the rhythmic pulsing of the Edison lights that were placed all around the stage.

Do yourself a favor, and purchase a ticket to go see this tour, if you still have the chance to do so.  This is a concert experience that I will never forget, and you won't forget it either.
