Mildlife Blow The Crowd Away At Hollywood Palladium
It’s not too often nowadays that an opening set can completely blow us away, but Mildlife managed to do exactly that during their stint as the opener for Parcels at the Hollywood Palladium. We’ll be the first to admit, we came to this show as fans of Parcels, but immediately left with the urge to consume everything related to Mildlife. The band took the stage in Los Angeles on March 4th, 2022 and completely hypnotized us with their unique brand of Rock music. Effortlessly mixing together their stylings of Jazz, Krautrock, and their self-described “Demon Grooves”, it made for an ideal style of which we quickly fell in love with.
With two albums to their name so far, Phase and Automatic, they ripped into the bigger hits immediately during their set. Even though there were breaks between songs in the set, it honestly felt like one long and immersive single that we didn’t want to end. We were in the photo pit for the first half and almost forgot to take pictures because of being so enthralled in the music. You almost forget you’re there to do a job, but the music seriously took over us and melted us into the waves they were giving off.
Coming all the way from Australia, there’s no doubt in our minds that anyone who gets to witness them play is going to become a fan. We’ve spent most of our morning becoming familiar with their existing discography and it’s fully on par with what we saw at the show. The production levels are high, the music is completely original, and they’ve shot up to the top of our list for who need to see as many times as we can. Thankfully we’ll be attending King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard’s show in Pomona in April 2022, of which they’ll be supporting. Yes!
