Jungle's Electrifying Performance Takes Los Angeles by Storm at Kia Forum
Jungle brought “The Heat” to the Kia Forum on Thursday night for their biggest LA show yet. With their signature mix of funk, soul, and electronic, the band kept longtime fans satisfied and undoubtedly made a lot of new ones. All ages were present at the Los Angeles show on September 7th, ranging from children no older than five years old to elderly couples on date night, proving just how wide of an audience the group reaches with their timeless sound.
The UK-based band kicked things off strong with “Us Against The World”, a cut from their latest album, 2023’s Volcano, which provided a perfect start to the night. The band’s stage set-up was tastefully minimal, making their musical talent and high-energy songs the focal point for the duration of the set.
Throughout the show, audiences at The Forum were treated to appearances from the talented collaborators featured on Volcano. Erick the Architect came out for an energetic performance of “Candle Flame”, and Compton native Channel Tres performed "I've Been In Love” to an ecstatic crowd.
The setlist was well-dispersed with songs from the group’s entire discography, ranging from their 2014 breakout hit “Busy Earnin’” to 2018’s fan-favorite “Casio”. Even the slower moments by Jungle’s standard, like “Beat 54 (All Good Now)” had people feeling the music from the floor through the 200 section. Amidst a well-curated setlist, standouts were recent hit “Back On 74” as well as “The Heat” from their debut album, which sounded just as fresh as it did nearly 10 years ago. The soulful vocals from group members Tom McFarland and Lydia Kitto were the highlight of the night, keeping audiences locked into a serious groove.
Judging by their music videos, Jungle is proud to make music that makes people dance, and that couldn’t have been more evident at The Forum, as they were determined to have audiences “Keep Moving” from the first song to the last.
