Illenium Illuminates the Night at Orlando Amphitheatre
What started as a peaceful night watching the orange and pink sunset at Lawne Lake ended with the sickest DJ set to come to the Orlando Amphitheater at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. On July 8th, the humid night sky was filled with lasers, confetti and pyrotechnics. With a blend of old and new hits, Illenium left the crowd jumping with their hands up, spreading PLUR. The sea of glitter, rainbow fans and neon costumes danced along to hits like “Starfall,” “Shivering,” and even his remix of Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero.”
Nicholas Miller, better known as Illenium, is an Illinois-native DJ, producer, guitarist and songwriter. He has five studio albums, the most recent is his self-titled, which was released April 2023. To pair with this album, he created an animated film titled “STARFALL,” influenced by his own life and music. Since 2008, he’s been dropping hits, such as “Takeaway” feat. The Chainsmokers and “Good Things Fall Apart” feat. Jon Bellion. He has a Grammy nomination and won “Best Remix of The Year” at the Electronic Music Awards in 2017 for his remix of Flume’s “Say It.” Just a few weeks ago, on June 23 he headlined Electric Forest Festival in Rothbury, Michigan. Needless to say, Illenium is a seasoned artist who has truly perfected his live sets.
Illenium’s summer tour is something you don’t want to miss. With the inclusion of electric guitars, drums and violin, his live sets are unique and musically diverse. Along with the live instruments, the crowd erupted with cheers when he brought out his opening act, singer Annika Wells, to join him for a few tracks. Another element of Illenium’s set that captivates his audiences are his visuals. He integrates shots from his music videos, his film, “STARFALL” and song lyrics, so the crowd sings along even louder.
The Illenium community is full of diversity and smiles. Nothing beats the feeling of trading candy or being showered with bubbles. Illenium is currently touring across the US before he heads over to Europe and Australia. The positive energy at his concerts is unbeatable, so get your tickets now!
