Fresh off of an incredibly successful Coachella weekend, Crumb rolled into The Mayan in Los Angeles, California for an evening filled to the brim with psychedelic overtones and a captive audience who were collectively bursting at the seams with excitement. Luckily for us, we were in attendance to recount the night and took some pretty incredible photos which you find in our full gallery below.

Kicking off the evening was a loud and wall of sound-style set coming from Mannequin Pussy. While their genre didn’t quite fall in line with Crumb’s in particular, it didn’t stop attendees from forming circle pits and achieving maximum hype for the main set. With that being said though, once the headliners hit the stage, the aura in the room immediately chilled out and it’s as if everyone was on the same wavelength. Pummeling through their first three songs to set the tone, we got a taste of 2021’s Ice Melt which we’ve been waiting so patiently to see. Crumb has made their way into Los Angeles over the past year, but only for an opening set, so it was a relief to witness all the lights and sounds fully tailored to them.

Treating all the fans to some of their bigger songs in the beginning of the set such as “BNR”, “Nina”, and “Fall Down”, you quickly remember how many certifiable hits they have in their limited discography. If they’re busting one after the other like this so early on in their hopefully fruitful career, it’s going to be wild to see them five years down the line with hopefully another couple albums under their belt. The live show itself featured extended jams, which were quite unexpected, but the band themselves looked like they were having the complete times of their life. Their music is certainly tailored to the “420” crowd, so with it being the holiday season on the night they played, it was almost as if dreams were coming true all over The Mayan.

Playing just a little over an hour and barely taking a breather for themselves throughout the time, we saw an expansive set list that dated all the way back to their debut self-titled EP Crumb and they even busted out some other classics like “Plants” which we’ve been dying to see for years now. All in all, it was truly a special experience to have witnessed that live, and we’ll undoubtedly be checking out their shows anytime they come within a radius of Southern California.

If for some reason you’ve yet to check out the music of Crumb, please do yourselves all a huge favor and check out the links below to listen, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for plenty more on the way. Enjoy!
