Alexander Stewart Wows the Crowd at SLC's USANA Amphitheatre
Currently opening up for Charlie Puth on his massive US tour, we had the wonderful opportunity to get there early and cover the greatness of Alexander Stewart. Please do yourselves a favor and read our full review of his set and make sure to check out our attached photo gallery below as well.
Alexander Stewart, a Canadian singer-songwriter, currently residing in California started out singing covers and publishing them on YouTube back in 2015. Then with his first single releasing in 2018, and his debut album in 2020, he built his following. It’s been a long and steady rise for the talented artist, but after all these years and the hard work put in, the light at the end of the tunnel has finally arrived.
The singer showed so much gratitude for the audience and main act for letting him perform and share his dream with everyone in the audience. One of the topics that he stressed in his set was that “you are cared about”. There is at least one person who loves and cares about you so much within your life and they don’t want to see you get hurt, even when it’s hard to see it. One thing we found to stick out among all of the songs he played was not only in the cadence of his striking vocals, but the meaning and powerful messages behind all of the music. If anything, it’s empowered us to go through his discography and do a little more exploration of what we might have previously missed. We urge everyone out there to do the same!
Each song he performed was intentionally chosen with meaning and hope that it would resonate with someone in the crowd who needed to hear it. Even without the fog machines and fancy lights, he was still able to move the audience through his expression and meaning behind his songs. Throughout his set, audience members stood up and started to shine their flashlights, swaying back and forth. Alexander found himself many more fans in Salt Lake City after his set for sure.
If you’re seeing Charlie Puth on his current tour, make your way to the venue early, we promise you won’t regret it. We have a sneaking suspicion that we’re not too far off from seeing Alexander Stewart as the headliner.
